PREFER A PRINTED USER MANUAL?

At Bausele we are trying to minimize our environmental impact and therefore have reduced our printing, including watch manuals. However we may have some physical copies of older manuals for The Pilot Automatic, Oceanmoon II and Sydney Opera House Watches. Available for pickup at our store in The Rocks NSW or shipped to you (free with any new watch purchase). Reach out here.

WHAT MOVEMENT IS POWERING YOUR WATCH?

Type of Movement

Important Information on  Movement

Bausele watches with this movement

Automatic

When wearing your watch, your arm's movement rotates the oscillating weight to wind the mainspring automatically and to keep the watch running. If you are not very active the watch will require more winding during the week. Have you tried the following:

Ensuring you stay active during the day so your arm movements charge up your watch.

Push the crown out at position 1 and (just before screwing the crown back in), give it a charge by turning the crown 40 times, then screw the crown back on gently and push it inwards at the same time- don't force. Also give the watch a horizontal shake to charge. With an automatic watch you need to wear it at least 4.5 hours a day while being active throughout the day to charge it up

Quartz

A quartz watch movement is powered by a battery and causes the second hand to move in ticks. The battery in the watch sends an electrical current through a small piece of crystal quartz (or synthetic crystal quartz) which is embedded in the circuitry.

This action causes the crystal to vibrate 32,768 times per second.

The circuit measures these vibrations and converts them into one pulse every second.

This pulse drives the motor, which then moves the watch hands or powers the digital display, enabling the watch to keep time.

If you need to know the exact battery in your watch please contact info@bausele.com

Battery-run watches require battery replacement every 12months.

The Vintage 2.0 battery is a CR2450.

Also contact about repair as some watches have delicate casebacks

Please note: Mechanical watch movements are powered by gears and springs. They're autonomous little machines without the need for electric power sources, whereas quartz watches are powered by batteries that vibrate little crystals.

We have Bausele authorised service locations in Australia, The UK and Switzerland. Reach out if your Bausele watch is nearing that 5 year service mark.
